Jungfraujoch

Jungfraujoch is reached by mountain railway from the Jungfrau Region, with convenient connections via Interlaken Ost, Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen.

Visitors can travel via Grindelwald Terminal and the Eiger Express to Eigergletscher, or via Lauterbrunnen and Wengen before continuing by the Jungfrau Railway to Jungfraujoch.

The journey to Top of Europe is part of the experience itself, passing through spectacular Alpine scenery before arriving at Europe’s highest railway station at around 3,454 metres above sea level.

Jungfraujoch is not directly accessible by car. Visitors arriving by car should drive to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen or another suitable departure point in the Jungfrau Region and continue by mountain railway.

Grindelwald Terminal provides convenient access to the Eiger Express and the route towards Eigergletscher and Jungfraujoch. Parking facilities are available near the main departure points.

During busy summer and winter periods, parking can fill up quickly. Checking parking options and transport connections in advance is recommended.

Jungfraujoch has excellent public transport connections, with regular trains linking the main departure points in Interlaken, Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen with the Jungfrau Region.

From Grindelwald Terminal, visitors can take the Eiger Express to Eigergletscher and continue by the Jungfrau Railway to Jungfraujoch. Alternatively, the route via Wengen and Kleine Scheidegg provides another scenic connection to the summit.

Public transport is the most convenient option for reaching Jungfraujoch without a car, especially during busy summer and winter periods when road traffic and parking can be limited.

Jungfraujoch has no direct boat access, as it is located high in the Bernese Alps above the surrounding valleys.

Visitors arriving by boat on Lake Thun or Lake Brienz can continue their journey by train via Interlaken Ost and then travel onwards to Jungfraujoch by mountain railway.

Jungfraujoch offers direct access to the high-Alpine landscape with mountain railways and cable cars connecting the main departure points with the summit.

Routes from Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and Wengen provide access to Eigergletscher, Kleine Scheidegg and ultimately Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe.

The mountain transport network makes it easy to combine scenic train journeys, sightseeing and spectacular Alpine experiences at over 3,400 metres above sea level.

Jungfraujoch has no parking facilities at the summit, as the destination is only accessible by mountain railway.

Visitors arriving by car should park at the main departure points in the Jungfrau Region, particularly Grindelwald Terminal, Lauterbrunnen or other suitable railway stations.
